More details on the GCC wiki, in particular http://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/MiddleEndLispTranslator & http://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/MELT%20tutorial I believe that MELT would be a good tool for Jae to experiment his ideas on the switch statements. He probably needs to implement a new GIMPLE pass which tranform a GIMPLE representation into another, and MELT is well suited for that. Feel free to ask more.
