Which crti.o is the build looking for ? The original one from my Debian
Testing installation ?

$ find /usr/lib -name crti.o
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/crti.o

This is ld:

I added manually some symlinks on my Debian/Sid
from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/crt*.o to /usr/lib

This also helps other GNU software, eg emacs, to be compiled.

Cheers.

Yes, crti.o is from glibc.

So the multilib f**kup finally reached testing ... I ended up adding symlinks
to /usr/lib which is where ld expects the files.

set LIBRARY_PATH (I really mean LIBRARY_PATH without LD_ prefix):

export LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu

at least that works for me on debian (with an i386 directory though)
and I didn't have to create any symlinks.

Yep, that did it;
