I don't think you can make a release while cc1plus still dies on such
a simple construct:

This was actually compiled with egcs-2.90.18, but version.c was not updated
in the diffs that I downloaded.  The version doesn't really matter anyway, every
snapshot since day 1 chokes on this C++ pattern.
