The Got It button has been removed on Warning: Enabling the Script
panel causes a Firefox slow-down due to a platform bug. This will be
fixed with the next major Firefox and Firebug versions. It appears
when Firebug has a warning.

The Launchpad account seotaewong40 has been suspended with request
from W. Grant for renaming a page.

Firebug has a partial Turkish translation; for example: Warning:
Enabling the Script panel causes a Firefox slow-down due to a platform
bug. This will be fixed with the next major Firefox and Firebug
versions. in Console, Errors, Warnings and Debug Info are not
translated.

Spammers post heaps of links to commercial websites that have nothing
at all to do with GCC.

Using an email address with "seo" in it makes you look like a spammer.

Posting links to spam makes you look like a spammer.

Posting meaningless crap about mozilla bugzilla permissions and
wine-devel makes you look like a bot.

Can we ban this sender?

The motivation seems obvious to me: create archived links to the spam
posts, giving them higher page rank.

We should find him and kneecap him, or if that's not possible ban him
from the list.

Stop banning this sender. Since we want to clean up spam in GCC mailing list.

If you want to restore your Mozilla Bugzilla account (seotaewong40),
you want to contact Mozilla Bugzilla.

You want to add posting permissions to wine-devel mailing list for
seotaewong40 gmail com mail address.

It will be better if you have enabled the Launchpad account seotaewong40.

This account has been suspended for renaming an answer title multiple times.

There's also an ordering error on the GCC maintainer list:

On the write after approval section, Xinliang David Li comes between
H.J. Lu and Christophe Lyon: please fix the sort order so his name
appears between Kriang Lerdsuwanakij and Jiangning Liu.

Gabor Loki will be written with accents: Gábor Lóki.

Please enable the account ~seotaewong40.

You want to send a mail to python-dev at python dot org.

The spam still exists in gcc-bugs mailing list:

Some background on the below: Google has recently changed its algorithms, and the presence of obvious spam mails pointing to a site now *lower* that site's Google rank. So the same "search engine optimization" people who created the spams for pay in the first place are now frantically trying to get the spams removed, to keep their clients from suing them. I think gcc is best served by just leaving the spams in the archive, as permanent punishment for the people who paid to wreck the Internet for their own gain.

These messages are, AFAIK, pointless. I'm not aware of anyone working
as a spam removal service. I am one of the admins for gcc.gnu.org and I
sure as @#$* am not paid enough to do this. I do spend a lot of my time
trying to make sure that spam doesn't get through and that's the limit
of what I'm willing to do.

I'd think that a lot of this thread (especially the launchpad part)
is off-topic for this mailing list.

As Jonathan Wakely suggested, I think that "Tae Wong" is a spammer,
and is adding links to these messages in hopes of boosting their
ranking numbers. Either that, or he or she is trying to remove these
links because they are now detected as spam and are decreasing the
ranking of the web pages they mention.

GMANE replaces "@" with " <at> ", so that @#$* becomes " <at> #$*".

The wiki.documentfoundation.org site is taking too late to load.

The GCC team has nothing to do with Launchpad.

Thanks for pointing this out. Fixed per the patch below.

On the way I noticed (well, strictly speaking my editor did, and
transparently so) that the MAINTAINERS file was ISO 8859, so I did
the conversation to UTF-8 as well. It's 2014 after all.
