We have some code that, when takes twice as long to build with current
CVS sources than with GCC 2.95.2 on sparc-sun-solaris2.6.
The huge increases of memory required seem to have been fixed recently --
Thanks! -- but the code generated seems to be worse, according to about a
dozen benchmarks I did with the resulting binary:
2.95.2 2000-05-24
time to build 7:18s 14:20s
size of binary 2.508MB 2.190MB
benchmark 25.5s 27.7s
That code is too big to post here, but if someone is interested, I can
of course provide it (plus some benchmark instances for the system).
