First, config.guess returns this:
i486-pc-linux-gnulibc1

I'm planning to take egcs-1.0.1 and gcc-2.8.0 (both of them fresh from the
factory, so to speak) and test them on some of the largest, most complex
targets I can. I'm planning to recompile XFree86 later, but for now I'll
settle for compiling Linux kernels.  If I run into bugs or other
quirkiness, I'll let you know.
