David Edelsohn believes that you should be notified if there's a problem
with subversion.gnu.org not updating its cvs directories from gcc.gnu.org.
In fact, this doesn't seem to have been done for about two days for the
mainline development version of gcc.

I think that someone at system-hackers or loic@gnu.org are know much
more than me how this update is done. I haven't seen documentation about it
(but it can exists, give me a pointer if so), so I cant handle this
problem by myself. Can someone take care of it or tell me what I
should be looking for?

Mmmm..  I set up the rsync thing originally, but I haven't paid any
attention to it since.  I think it was all documented in the `README'
file we used to use as our common docs.  It always Just Worked.  I
suspect that it probably has to do with all the dissapearing cygnus
domains.

If noone else steps forward, let me know and I'll see if I remember
how it works.

	That is correct. Here is the source of the problem:

unknown host: sourceware.cygnus.com

	The mirroring command line is:

rsync --archive --delete --checksum --compress rsync://sourceware.cygnus.com/gcc-cvs /home/rsync/gcc 

	(in the rsync user crontab on subversions.gnu.org)

	and should be changed to accomodate the fact that the domain
name is no longer valid.

	Any suggestion ? Help from gcc people on the best way to fix this ?

According to <http://gcc.gnu.org/rsync.html>, this should be gcc.gnu.org
instead of sourceware.cygnus.com.

Thanks for fixing this!

If you don't mind, I would like to add some address to our documentation
which we should use in case of problems with the rsync or CVS mirror of
the GCC sources on subversions.gnu.org.

Which address would be suitable for that?

On a similar note, there should also be documentation explaining how the
www.gnu.org website mirroring works and who to contact about that.
