I have two open reports about ICEs, and it also miscompiles my library in
several different places.
And as a sidenote: I don't think I have much to say in the decision
whether to switch on -fnew-ra by default, but as long as the compile time
problems mentioned in
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc/2002-11/msg00821.html
and rebuffed in
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc/2002-11/msg00996.html
are not addressed, I will not be the only user to be unsatisfied with the
new register allocator.
Regards
Wolfgang

What's the state of the new register allocator? Is it mature enough to
be integrated into gcc 3.4 and turned on by default? Is it mature
enough for us to start ripping out the old register allocator?
Or is it still crashing on legal input? :-)
