I myself use RH5.0 and have never built glibc. I'd consider it a major problem if I could not compile glibc anymore. It is almost as bad as not beeing able to compile the Linux kernel and would prompt me to switch back to gcc 2.8 as fast as I can download and compile it on my different machines. Mike
