Hi,
egcs 970904 configured for linux/alpha miscompiled the
dynamic linker in glibc 2.0.5. One file, elf/rtld.c,
is miscompiled by egcs 970904 while gcc 2.7.2.1 is fine.
The symptom is kind of strange. The dynamic linker
runs fine if I do
# elf/ld.so a.out
But when I put elf/ld.so in /lib and do
# a.out
The dynamic linker dies due to a bad address. There
are some differences between asm outputs from gcc 2.7.2.1
and egcs 970904. But I cannot tell what are wrong.
Due to the nature of the dynamic linker, it is very
hard for me to create a small test case. I will be
happy to provide more info.
Thanks.
