* 64 bit gcc/g++ 2.95.2 on solaris 7 (sparcv9-sun-solaris2.7)

I'm interested in comments, suggestions, caveats on using 2.95.2 for the
above host/target.

I've gotten the compile to work on Solaris 2.7 after a couple of minor bugs.
The compiler seems to work ok for trivial programs and can generate either
32 bit or 64 bit in all sparc flavors!

The new back end (great job!) is faster that Sunpro 4.2 for our application
using gcc/g++ 2.95.2 for the sparc-sun-solaris2.6 host/target.   We are
currently installing Sunpro 5.0 and I'm interested to see if gcc/g++ fares
as well against it was well.

Is there a testsuite available?

I'm also interested if gdb has been ported to this environment and works
with the sparc v9 64 bit elf.

It won't work. Period. Support for sparcv9 is still under
development, and will hopefully make it to the next stable release
(i.e., 2.96+, not 2.95.3+). Meanwhile, you may test development
snapshots.
