Thanks Alexandre, I've solved the gperf problem but another problem came up when I continued making the cross compiler:

sh: m68k-unknown-coff-ar: execute permission denied
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `libgcc1-asm.a'
Current working directory /net/local-kirin/gnudev/gnu/m68k/gcc-2.95.2/gcc
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `cross'

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Maybe you should make it executable?
