I write
1.0 * (a + b) + c
all the times in cases where I don't care about order of evaluation.
Or rather, I write
const double dt = 1.0; // [h]
double foo (double a /* [kg N/h] */,
double b /* [kg N/h] */,
double c /* [kg N] */)
{ return dt * (a + b) + c; }
