Subject: Obsolete (or multi-arch) GDB's i960 support

Hello,

The i960 target, currently included in GDB, has been identified as a
candidate for obsolesence. This target does not use GDB's multi-arch
framework and all such targets are either being obsoleted or converted.

``Configurations that have been declared obsolete in this release have
been commented out. Unless there is activity to revive these
configurations, the next release of GDB will have their sources
permanently REMOVED.''

If you have any reservations over GDB's move to obsolete the i960 target
(and/or are in a position to multi-arch it) please contact the gdb@
discussion list (CCd).
