FWIW, I've often used timetimes to try to narrow down where time is spent. Sometimes, global performance measurements such as hot spots, etc, can be a little skewed with code that we didn't want to analyze. Or I've also worked on platforms where performance analysis tools are not available. So I used the poor man's performance tool, timestamped traces. -- Joel
