GDB 8.1 release RSN (Real Soon Now)? (2018-01-25)

Hello,

Are there still any blocking problems before we create the GDB 8.1
release?

Neither https://sourceware.org/gdb/wiki/GDB_8.1_Release (the release's
wiki page), nor the bugzilla database list any blocking bugs anymore.

Are there still issues with the build on Windows? There were several
discussions mixed in the same thread that I got confused as to
the status of each of them.

If all issues are solved, I propose we either release on Friday
if I get the go from everyone, or else early next week, if we
want to wait a little extra to give people time to provide feedback.

Yes, I have a couple of patches to push.  I hope to get to that
tomorrow.

Btw, what kept me from doing that until now was the lack of an
approval for a patch I proposed for python-internal.h.  I just sent
another ping for that.
