Yes, that sounds quite nice. I have a patch to update gnulib and to add new gnulib modules for most of these things (I forgot to do 'bind' but that's easily rectified). I can write the change to remove the relevant USE_WIN32API bits -- but I can only build it, not test it. If I send a patch can you give it a try? thanks, Tom
