GDB 15.1 release update (2024-05-26)

Hi everyone,

Good news: All blocking issues and important changes had been pushed
to master, and so I created the gdb-15-branch branch.

Small hicup: I detected a blocking issue that made me postpone
the creation of the first pre-release (see "Added Since the Last
Update"). If the issue is fixed before next weekend (June 1-2),
I'll make a first pre-release then.

Fixed Since the Previous Update:

I pushed commit 9c2db7a3c74 to the gdb-15-branch which should resolve
this issue.  I'm able to create a release tar file and then
build/install it following the steps you provided.  Let me know if you
still see any problems.
