Right. A strange ruling, I think _t is used in lots of applications. I also don't really understand the language of the ruling in its last part: End in the string indicated as a reserved suffix in the table and do not use the reserved prefixes posix_, POSIX_, or _POSIX_, as long as the reserved suffix is in that part of the name considered significant by the implementation. I guess we need to start removing those suffixes, but given the amount of existing code that uses them, I'm not sure Jan's patches should be blocked because of that.
