I don't think it will.  I removed some of the duplication a few months ago, and
we haven't heard of any problem.

Here's the current output:

 -var-create int * int
 &"Attempt to use a type name as an expression.\n"
 ^error,msg="mi_cmd_var_create: unable to create variable object"
 (gdb)

Still isn't perfect, but we're getting there slowly.  :-)
