GDB doesn't build with -Wstrict-prototypes.  It would be nice if it did.

To try it out, compile with something like:

 make CFLAGS="-g3 -O2 -Wstrict-prototypes -Wmissing-prototypes" WERROR_CFLAGS=""
2>warnings.txt

This may be tricky when relying on external dependencies that aren't in system
headers.
