* [Bug build/10685] New: Problem Installing 6.8. After ./configure, tried to make GDB 6.8,  then gave me error : no termcap library found.  Working on ubuntu.

I downloaded GDB 6.8, extracted, then followed instructions in Readme. 

did a "./configure"

then "make"
I get a whole bunch of "checking for lib... "  then the following: 
.... 

checking for library containing gethostbyname... none required
checking for library containing socketpair... none required
checking for library containing waddstr... no
checking for library containing dlgetmodinfo... no
checking for library containing tgetent... no
configure: error: no termcap library found
make[1]: *** [configure-gdb] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/sarah/Desktop/gdb-6.8'
make: *** [all] Error 2
sarah@sarah-Ubuntu:~/Desktop/gdb-6.8$

It sounds like you are missing some build dependencies,
probably something like ncurses-dev or ncurses-devel
(I'm not an Ubuntu user, so I don't know the correct name.)
Can you check that?
