A user tripped over this in a 7.6 variant:
../../gdb-7.6.x/gdb/dwarf2read.c:14552: internal-error: could not find partial
DIE 0x754d4 in cache
if (pd == NULL)
internal_error (__FILE__, __LINE__,
_("could not find partial DIE 0x%x "
"in cache [from module %s]\n"),
offset.sect_off, bfd_get_filename (objfile->obfd));
For reference sake, this similar to 9008.
