            Bug ID: 16294
           Summary: failed assertion if running program from exited event
                    handler (Python)
           Product: gdb
           Version: HEAD
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: python
          Assignee: unassigned at sourceware dot org
          Reporter: brobecker at gnat dot com

Python script file

With the following dummy program...

    | int
    | main (void)
    | {
    |   return 0;
    | }

... compiled using ...

  % gcc -g -o dummy dummy.c

... and the following Python/GDB script called 'crun.py' ...

    | do_rerun = True
    | def exit_handler(event):
    |     global do_rerun
    |     if do_rerun:
    |         do_rerun = False
    | print "Program exited once. Run it a second time."
    |         gdb.execute('run')
    | gdb.events.exited.connect(exit_handler)

... the following scenario produces a failed assertion:

    | % gdb dummy
    | (gdb) source crun.py
    | (gdb) run
    | Starting program: /[...]/dummy
    | [Inferior 1 (process 22353) exited normally]
    | Program exited once. Run it a second time.
    | [Inferior 1 (process 22357) exited normally]
    | /[...]/gdb/infrun.c:1183: internal-error:
remove_displaced_stepping_state: Assertion `pid != 0' failed.

I had hoped to be able to investigate this problem quickly. But I've been stuck
doing other things, at the moment, so I am creating this PR to make sure I
don't forget it.
