From: "ludo at gnu dot org" <sourceware-bugzilla@sourceware.org> To: gdb-prs@sourceware.org Subject: [Bug external/16328] New: GDB/Binutils should not install configure.info Date: Fri, 13 Dec 2013 22:49:00 -0000 [thread overview] Message-ID: <bug-16328-4717@http.sourceware.org/bugzilla/> (raw) http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=16328 Bug ID: 16328 Summary: GDB/Binutils should not install configure.info Product: gdb Version: 7.6 Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: external Assignee: unassigned at sourceware dot org Reporter: ludo at gnu dot org For historical reasons the 'src' tree installs configure.info. However, that file has become partly obsolete, and if it were to be updated and distributed, the Autoconf project may be in a better position to do that. Thus, it seems best to stop distributing it with GDB/Binutils, and instead possibly hand over maintenance to Autoconf---see the discussion at <http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-texinfo/2013-12/msg00007.html> and Karl's conclusion at <http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-texinfo/2013-12/msg00015.html>. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
