Subject: [Bug gdb/17872] New: kgdb on Freescale i.MX6 processor SEGV's on startup with 3.14 and 3.19 kernels
Date: Sun, 25 Jan 2015 06:20:00 -0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <bug-17872-4717@http.sourceware.org/bugzilla/> (raw)

https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=17872

            Bug ID: 17872
Summary: kgdb on Freescale i.MX6 processor SEGV's on startup
                    with 3.14 and 3.19 kernels
           Product: gdb
           Version: 7.7
            Status: NEW
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P2
         Component: gdb
Assignee: unassigned at sourceware dot org
          Reporter: alison@she-devel.com

Created attachment 8082

Console output showing segmentation violation

KGDB in the form of arm-none-linux-gnueabi-gdb 7.7.50 reliably hits a
segmentation violation and drops core when used with the 3.14 or 3.19 Linux
kernels with the Freescale i.MX6Q processor. KGDB worked well with 3.8
kernel on this target. We have seen the problem on more than one kind of
i.MX6Q board.

Since the problem is 100% reproducible, I'd be happy to provide any additional
information that would be helpful.
