--with-separate-debug-dir=/mnt/c/GDB/lib/debug (relocatable)
--with-system-gdbinit=/mnt/c/GDB/etc/gdbinit.py (relocatable)
I am happy to report however that your proposed patch seems to work and
gdbserver once again succeeds to link. Thanks!
