I noticed that delete_thread_silent is unused.
I wonder, though, if it should be used by things like prune_threads.

Also I was wondering if code that checks print_thread_events
should be moved into delete_thread.  E.g.:

          if (print_thread_events)
            printf_unfiltered (_("[%s exited]\n"),
                               target_pid_to_str (wptid).c_str ());
          delete_thread (thr);
