This works now:

(gdb) r
Starting program: /home/tromey/gnu/PRS/gdb8861/pr 
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]

Program received signal SIGTRAP, Trace/breakpoint trap.
main () at pr.c:12
12        printf("b = 0x%08x 0x%08x 0x%08x 0x%08x\n", b[0], b[1], b[2], b[3]);
(gdb) p $xmm0.uint128
$1 = 0x00000004000000030000000200000001
