Using my default compiler (no envrionment variable like CC is set),
and using the following configure line:

/usr/src/glibc/glibc-2.3.2/build>../configure --with-tls --without-cvs
--with-elf --enable-kernel=2.6.5 --disable-hidden-plt --enable-add-ons
--enable-bounded --enable-shared

I get this error:

I very much doubt there is any such problem.  Maybe you got the sources while
changes were checked in or there was a bug for a brief period.  But there
certainl has been no such problem in the last weeks.

exact configure because you never ran into any compile bugs in the past week and
think that therefore any bug that is being reported must be the mistake of the
reporter.</UliStyle>

The fact that you even USE the word "doubt" makes it clear that you didn't
really try it. No wonder there are only 236 bug reports - everyone just ONCE
reports a bug here.

I just reproduced this with i686 and --with-tls --with-__thread on
glibc-2.3.2 while generating the build matrix for crosstool-0.41.

The problem doesn't happen in glibc-2.3.5 or glibc-2.3.6, fwiw.

Possibly --without-__thread would help (cf. the comments
in bug 317), but I haven't tried it yet.
