Subject: [Bug nptl/13172] New: aio_suspend is not async-signal-safe
Date: Fri, 09 Sep 2011 03:38:00 -0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <bug-13172-131@http.sourceware.org/bugzilla/> (raw)

http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=13172

             Bug #: 13172
           Summary: aio_suspend is not async-signal-safe
           Product: glibc
           Version: unspecified
            Status: NEW
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P2
         Component: nptl
        AssignedTo: drepper.fsp@gmail.com
        ReportedBy: bugdal@aerifal.cx
    Classification: Unclassified

aio_suspend is required by POSIX to be async-signal-safe, but the first
non-trivial line of glibc's implementation of aio_suspend is:

pthread_mutex_lock(&__aio_requests_mutex);

This will obviously deadlock (or worse) if the thread running the signal
handler was already executing aio_suspend when it was interrupted by the
signal.
