For inputs outside of a small range (somewhere around [-2pi,2pi] but maybe slightly larger), and near multiples of pi/2 (where either sin or cos has a near-zero result and thus needs extra precision) you really need to fall back to the C range-reduction code (or good luck reimplementing THAT in asm...).
