Subject: [Bug manual/17202] New: getaddrinfo and getnameinfo not documented in glibc manual
Date: Sat, 26 Jul 2014 09:09:00 -0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <bug-17202-131@http.sourceware.org/bugzilla/> (raw)

https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=17202

            Bug ID: 17202
Summary: getaddrinfo and getnameinfo not documented in glibc
                    manual
           Product: glibc
           Version: 2.19
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: manual
Assignee: unassigned at sourceware dot org
Reporter: iep1ungo at yopmail dot com
CC: mtk.manpages at gmail dot com, roland at gnu dot org

The getaddrinfo and getnameinfo functions are not documented in the glibc
manual. They are mentioned in passing in the "Host names" section (
https://www.gnu.org/software/libc/manual/html_mono/libc.html#Host-Names ),
which mainly describes the obsolescent gethostbyname and gethostbyaddr
functions (and variants).
