There is nothing wrong with what you did, but you are unlikely to get serious
review until your patch has the kind of quality expected by libc-alpha.

You are making great progress here though, and I appreciate your efforts. It's
not easy to make changes to core runtimes, and as a community we try to hold
ourselves to a high standard.
