            Bug ID: 28996
Summary: realpath fails to copy partial result to resolved
                    buffer on ENOENT and EACCES
           Product: glibc
           Version: 2.35
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: libc
Assignee: siddhesh at sourceware dot org
Reporter: siddhesh at sourceware dot org
CC: drepper.fsp at gmail dot com
  Target Milestone: ---

The fix for bug 28815 resulted in a regression in the GNU extension which says
that the resolved buffer will have the path that failed in case failure is due
to ENOENT or EACCES.

Bring back that behaviour to continue supporting the GNU extension.
