It sounds like you have a design in mind, please by all means start a wiki page
to document the design. You need not implement it yourself, but if we can get
consensus across the board and document which functions need implementing or
documenting, then that's a win, and myself or others can implement it. Right
now we have no wiki page and not even a strawman design solution.
