Subject: yet another install difficulty.
Date: Wed, 04 Jun 2003 16:54:00 -0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20030604164034.56145.qmail@web13806.mail.yahoo.com> (raw)

Installed gnats 3.999.2. Built from scratch. Everything is happy; I can
telnet in, login, change database (though I am only using 1. default).

Installed gnatsweb 2.9.3 as per instructions, but the "make test" command fails
in a way I've not seen talked about on this forum:

root@moo:/home/mjstumpf/gnatsweb-2.9.3# make test USERNAME=mjstumpf
PASSWORD=hehehehe DATABASE=default
perl test.pl
connect...........................................FAIL
connect...........................................FAIL
make: *** [test] Error 1
root@moo:/home/mjstumpf/gnatsweb-2.9.3#

I've got an /etc/gnats-db.conf file that I believe is valid; if I change the
name of DATABASE in the 'make test' line I get similar results/complaints as
others in the forum. The interesting thing here is that the connect....FAIL
line is printed twice.. ?

If I 'just go ahead and make install anyway', I get to the login screen with an
empty database list; logging in 'works' but results in returning to the login
screen.

any help appreciated. Thanks,
Michael Stumpf
