Me again. I just noticed that the comment in the NEWS file that causes me
to say the above is from way back in September, so adding new fields and
all probably _is_ ready to roll!
From the current NEWS file in the CVS sources:
September 21st, 1999 GNATS 4.0 alpha.2 "squirrel-2"
This is another update to the alpha release. This one theoretically
allows adding new fields by merely inserting them in the configuration
file, and changing the header strings of fields, but this capability
has not been tested.
