Try:
gsl_matrix **m;
int N; /* number of matrices */
m = malloc(sizeof(gsl_matrix *) * N);
for ( i = 0 ; i < N; ++i )
m[i] = gsl_matrix_calloc( row, col );
.....
free(m);
