Hi, does anybody know, how I can compile gsl under Windows 98. I tryied
to type make in the main
directory, but it didn't work.

Hi,
It should work under Cygwin, or see the section "Binary Packages" on
http://sources.redhat.com/gsl/ for precompiled Windows version.
