After changing the preferences for the memory window, not all of the window is used to display memory contents. It is only filled after resizing the windows.

Resize the window so its nice and big.
Addresses/Preferences
Change Size from Word to Half Word
OK
You should now only see 8 rows of memory.

If you then resize the window slightly, the number of rows is increased to fill available space.
