I compiled insight under slackware 12.2,
when I try to run it, it looks for tcl/tk 8.4 and fail to run.

This probably means that tk wasn't installed properly.

just install it on every OS that as tcl/tk 8.5 and the bug will be seen.
(I also googled it and found Obunto bug report on it)
