Insight GUI dies immediately after starting

Hi:
System is Mac OS X (10.5.8)
Insight and all other AVR tools compiled and install in /usr/local/avr
When starting Insight I used to get the usual display concerning bad  
paths to Itcl & Itk, so I made this short script to setup the paths  
correctly:

export PATH="$PATH:${DESTDIR}/bin"
export  LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/avr/lib:/usr/local/avr/i386-apple- 
darwin9.8.0/avr/lib:/usr/local/avr/i386-apple-darwin9.8.0/avr/include
export  LD_RUN_PATH=/usr/local/avr/lib
export ITCL_LIBRARY=/usr/local/avr/share/itcl3.2
export ITK_LIBRARY=/usr/local/avr/share/itk3.2

exec avr-insight

When avr-insight is executed I see an Icon in the dock very briefly  
and then it disappears, and then nothing.  So I looked in the logs and  
found this:

Mar 08 20:52:36  [196] kCGErrorIllegalArgument: CGXSetWindowListTags:  
Operation on a window 0x6 not owned by caller avr-insight

Any idea as to what's going on?

The configure when fine as well as the make and make install

Any help would be much appreciated.
