Thats not to say it won't kill itself, only that it won't do it very often and I have found insight under Cygwin from 2 years ago to do so as well. One of the problems is that when gdb kills itself, insight won't display the error message. Unless you look at the stack dump you can't tell the difference between insight killing itself due to its own problems and gdb having an error which should be reported and fixed.
