I was under the impression that it worked. I just tried it: it doesn't work at all on cygwin. Sigh. I've added Martin to this discussion. I don't know if he's back on line yet. [I even tried using "--enable-shared" on cygwin to no avail.] My apologies for not testing this. Keith
