Hello,
I tried installing insight from the file "insight-4.95.2.tar.bz2" on
a
i686 machine running Redhat 7.0. From the directory "insight-5.0"
that was created by "tar -xf" I performed the following:
./configure
make
make install
When gdb is executed, it does not bring up the GUI even when
I use the -w switch. I checked the version of GDB and it looks
correct though it says it is configured as "i386". When
I ran
"configure" IÂ saw that the program detected an "i686" machine.

not working?
Thanks for any guidance you can give me on this matter..... Steve

Steve,
Is your DISPLAY variable set? If this variable does not exist
GDB will silently fall back to text mode.

Another possibility with your version.
See what was installed under the "share" directory.
You should have:
???/share/iwidgets3.0.0
Check if you do not have an older iwidgets as well,
like an iwidgets2.2.0
