Wow, I don't know what to tell you... This is the first I've seen of 
this. I just downloaded the release tarball, dusted off my aging cygwin 
PC, and kicked off a build. It completed just fine.

I built this using:
$ uname -a
CYGWIN_NT-5.0 cocoa 1.5.16(0.128/4/2) 2005-04-25 20:26 i686 unknown 
unknown Cygwin

This is a Win2k box. What are you using?
