Yes, as a matter of fact, I use insight almost daily. I even use the source that goes into the snapshots. Just yesterday afternoon I was using this: GNU gdb 6.4.50.20060515-cvs. You haven't mention what your company's release platform is (linux,cygwin) or target architecture (linux,cygwin,mcore-elf,ppc-elf,etc), so I can't tell you if it could be a series of (probably gdb) bugs with your build.
