well, i m trying to revert the tcl-tk 8.3 libraries in the insight-5.2 to
tcl-tk 8.0.3..but when i execute the command:
cvs -q update -r gdb_5_1-2001-07-29-branch
i get a message displaying to specify the $CVSROOT.
well, what is the path that i should set for this environment variable.?

You can use tcl/tk 8.3 with Insight (unix does), but be aware that it is
a
little unstable. There are problems with Tk8.3 on cygwin, and no one has
tracked it down.
I recommend getting Insight 5.2.1 or newer and reverting the tcl stuff
to
8.0.3, as described on the Insight homepage,
