The latest autotools do not support "AUTOMAKE_OPTIONS=3Dcygnus" anymore.
Thus rebuilding from configure.ac/Makefile.am fails.

Automake option "cygnus" should probably replaced by "foreign no-dist"
in all Makefile.am files.
